Reclaim, Re-use, Recycle
In a time when 'Saving the Planet' is a very topical subject, this exciting display brings together work from artists that choose to create objects of beauty from reclaimed materials. Whether it's the hateful plastic carrier bag, drinks cans, old clothing, car parts or water bottles, these artists translate our everyday rubbish into desirable pieces of art.
Out of the Shadows into the Light
In 2007 the Quilters Guild of the British Isles set a Guild Challenge, in conjunction with Makower UK, on a theme of 'Out of the Shadows Into the Light'. Entrants could make a quilt, a three-dimensional item or a piece of clothing, relevant to the theme and reflecting the Guild's move into a wider public arena. ICHF are pleased to be able to present the winners and entrants' pieces from the Challenge.

Poetry in Stitches 2
Following the enormous success of Poetry in Stitches 1, the National Needlework Archive invited professional and amateur textile artists to take part in Poetry in Stitches 2. The object is to combine textile art with poetry, which is then exhibited together with the poem that inspired them. Here is your opportunity to see the pictures exhibited as a complete collection, before they are subsequently exhibited in smaller groups, or individually, in public places such as hospitals.

The Great British PicKnit
In 2007, Aardman Animations (makers of Wallace & Gromit) approached us to work with them on a brand new knitting project, featuring their character Shaun the Sheep to raise money for the Wallace & Gromit Children's Foundation. With the help of visitors to our shows and also the general public, through the UKHKA (United Kingdom Hand-knitting Association) and Simply Knitting magazine, we are proud to unveil 'Shaun the Sheep's Great British PicKnit', a life-sized knitted display featuring Shaun the Sheep and friends, plus many knitted goodies, far too good to eat!
